Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt
of Your Excellency's Despatch of the 13th, ultimo on the
subject of the Working Agreement for the Canton-Kowloon
Railway.
The Inclosures of your Despatch consist of
one copy (*A*) of the Agreement containing the Articles
and Schedules agreed upon between the negotiators as well
as two Articles printed in italics as *37 A* and *37 3*,
which have been reserved for further decision; and six
copies ("B") of a reprint of the Agroment in which the
reserved clauses appear as Articles 38 and 39 in ordinary
type. Articles 37 A in *** and 36 in *5* are apparently
alternative drafts of a clause to provide for the eventual
connection of the Railway with the Canton-ilankow Railway.
